Tex La Homa & Sparkle
in Grey: Whale Heart, Whale Heart
Tex La Homa songs were written and recorded around the birth of Robin Neve Shaw, the inspiration and collaborator on these pieces of music. The fours tracks vary from the Kranky-style long guitar tunes to pop-folk songwriting, passing through 'light' experimental sounds, mostly taken from baby's sounds. Sparkle in Grey songs come from a long process of mixing and recordings from various sources, from filed recodings (e.g. the funeral wake for Giovanni Paolo II in Notre Dame de Paris, a volley match, kids playing) to electronic elaboration, but the two tracks are mostly based on acoustic guitar, violin, bass and minimal drums. |
